Ruby Thelot is a graduate student at the Parsons School of Design working on mapping and vulgarizing the risks of cryptocurrencies to the public. Ruby’s research focuses on artificial intelligence, cyberethnography (the study of online communities) and digital ontology or being-on-line. His work and research have been published and presented at the National Library in Estonia, at the University of Naples, and at the University of Quebec in Montreal, amongst other places. Ruby earned his Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in Accounting.
Fellowship Project: A Cryptocurrency Exchange
In 2022, CR awarded Ruby Thelot an Innovation Lab Fellowship to explore the guiding security, governance and ownership principles that might be used to examine the most popular cryptocurrency exchange platforms in the US. In the midst of the ever-increasing velocity of change in the blockchain world, platforms coming and going, how can we ensure that consumers’ hard-earned money if spent on cryptocurrency is secure?
